Community Art Show at The Coffee Garden
Saturday June 4, 2011 - I Can Do That! students from Leonardo da Vinci K-8 School displayed artwork. Students worked under the direction of professional artist Kimberly Grace throughout the spring semester.

Wednesday June 1, 2011 - I Can Do That! students from Leonardo da Vinci K-8 School displayed artwork as part of the art show at the school's Open House. Students worked under the direction of professional artist Kimberly Grace throughout the spring semester.
Community Art Show at the Sojourner Truth Multicultural Museum
Tuesday May 31st, 2011 - I Can Do That! students from Luther Burbank High School and John F. Kennedy High School displayed visual art and toured the museum. The students worked under the direction of professional artist Deborah Iyall to create gourd birds, collage and other art works.
I Can Do That! at the Sacramento County Fair
Visual art by students in the I Can Do That! program was on display at the Fair from May 26 through May 30, 2011.
Friday May 27, 2011 - I Can Do That! students performed hip-hop and breakdancing for Fair visitors.
Dream Night at The Sacramento Zoo
Friday June 3, 2011 - The Sacramento Zoo hosted a special night for children with chronic illnesses and disabilities and thier families. I Can Do That! supplied Funshops for the many children to create art pieces at the event.

25 Hip-Hop Dancers of all abilities from SacShowBiz - a dance school which teaches children to express themselves through the magic of performing arts - and from I Can Do THAT! / Very Special Arts performed and then invited audience members to join them in a free-style hip-hop dance session.

CVS Pharmacy Grant Award Presentation
CVS District Manager Jill Gridley and CVS Store Manager Scot Coveyou presented VSa arts of California with a generous grant award for the Sacramento VSA / I Can Do That! program. Executive Director Alice Parente and six VSA students from Leonardo da Vinci participated in the February 24th "check" presentation at the Florin Road CVS store.

CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL AWARDS PRESENTATION
State Senate Pro Tem, Darrel Steinberg, and other legislators joined the California Arts Council on February 14, 2011 for a grant awards presentation in Sacramento to honor 14 arts organizations and highlight the quality work they do in regional Sacramento-area schools and communities. The presentation took place in the State Senate Chambers.

Very Special Arts Sacramento's I Can Do That! program received a $9,066 award from the California Arts Council for its artists-in-the-schools programs. Assemblyman Dr. Richard Pan and Senator Darrell Steinberg made the presentation to Executive Director, Alice Parente. Acting CAC Executive Director, Marilyn Nielsen, also assisted in issuing the "checks".
