Very Special Festival of the Arts

VSA arts of California at Sacramento (VSAS), in association with Sacramento City Unified School District and City of Sacramento Neighborhood Services Department, presented the 23rd annual Spring Very Special Festival of the Arts Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Coloma community Center.

The visual art show included bug sculptures made from papier mache by Leonardo da Vinci K-8 School students (artist Maggie Jimenez); paintings by Rosemont High students (artist Jennifer Dare Sparks); three-dimensional collage by Leonardo da Vinci K-8 students (artist Mikan Gosuico); paintings and drawings Marian Anderson Elementary and Lisbon Elementary students (artist Tom Wiedeman); ceramics and clay sculpture by Isador Cohen Pre-K students (artist Lynda King); and cartoons by Jed Smith Elementary and Rosa Parks Middle students (artist Pat Dawson).
