Union Station in Washington, DC
June 1 - 21, 2009 - VSA arts and CVS Caremark All Kids Can asked students, ages 5 through 15, to consider what makes them unique and to share with us their interests, talents, and dreams through art. In the process, children were able to enjoy new experiences and discover themselves as artists. A selection of submissions to the All Kids Can…Create! online gallery is featured within the exhibition Celebrating Who I Am. This collection of artwork gives us a glimpse into young artists’ lives from all 50 states and the District of Columbia—favorite animals, toys, and pastimes, career aspirations, and how they view themselves.

Fourteen-year-old Kevin Hosseini was chosen as the California state winner of the All Kids Can...Create! program for his painting Train (pictured in the column to the right). Kevin, along with his mother and sister, and VSA arts of California Executive Director Alice Parente, flew to Washington, DC to be part of a reception for the winning artwork where it is on display at Union Station. At the end of the Union Station exhibit, Kevin's painting and the exhibit's other works of art will become part of a travelling art show seen all around Nation.
