Very Special Arts Days (VSA Days) are one-day events for children of all abilities during the summer. Each day features high-quality performances by very special artists, displays of visual artwork created by I Can Do That! / VSA California at Sacramento students each spring, plus several Funshops (hands-on workshops in the arts) such as collage, mobiles, yarn painting, block print-making, and ink-blot butterflies.

VSA Days is an interactive project of I Can Do That! / VSA California at Sacramento, City of Sacramento Access Leisure, the Sacramento Zoo, and Fairytale Town. The Days are designed to:

  • allow kids of all backgrounds and abilities to interact, create, and have fun
  • build the self-esteem, communication, self-direction, socialization, and behavior of special kids through the Arts
  • enhance community acceptance and awareness of the talents and capabilities of ALL children
