Thursday, June 4 through Monday, June 15, 2009 - Leonardo da Vinci School 1st and 2nd graders created bug sculptures made from recycled materials as part of their ongoing study of the insect world.

The sculptures were featured at the former Michael Himovitz Gallery in Del Paso Heights, and were part of a Second Saturday Art Walk reception there.

The Bugs were also exhibited earlier this year at the art sudios of Maggie Jimenez, the I CAN DO THAT! artist who helped the children create them.

Former Himovitz space opens as Phantom Gallery

I CAN DO THAT! artists featured alongside exhibits by John Krempel, Margaret Teichert, Kelsey Walker, Robyn Slakey, Heather Fernden and Maggie Jimenez.

Friday, June 12 reception: 6 - 8 pm

Saturday, June 13 reception: 5 - 9 pm featuring blues and jazz music of
Jimmy Pailer and country music of Grammy-nominated Tim Murphy
