I Can Do That! Fall 2008

Fall 2008 - Fourteen school sites are participating in I CAN DO THAT! this Fall. Artists began working in classrooms in September and will wrap things up by the end of January.

Highlights from I Can Do That! Fall 2008:

Leonardo da Vinci K-8 School

Artist Mikan Gosuico is woring with the VI class at Leonardo da Vinci school to complete a large sculptural project called "Wishing Trees." The trees stand 4 feet tall and are made from 10" cardboard tubing (trunk) with wire netting (top). The students will paint 6" strips of bevelled molding and apply them to to the tubing to create the "bark" of the tree. The students will also use their Braille typewriter to write their personal wishes/dreams on "leaves" cut from paper. The leaves hang from the trees' wire netting.
